Whilst the emphasis is presently
on the development of the fruit, Quorn Quandongs has as much faith in the
potential of the nut as a quality product as it does in the fruit, and is
embarking on a research breeding programme to develop this product as well.
Quorn Quandongs has plans to develop a tourism enterprise in Quorn when the orchard comes into production. Already a most significant Arboretum of very rare and endangered local flora has been planted on the property as a resource for tourists, students and scientists. It also has plans to develop further commercial plantings of grafted trees both in Quorn and other regions. Whilst Quorn Quandongs’ focus is clearly the Quandong, it has great faith in Wattle Seed as a product so will harvest the seeds from the hosts as a secondary crop. |
